K. Sean Kekina

K. Sean Kekina joined OHA as its Deputy Administrator and Chief Operating Officer in September 2025. As part of OHA’s executive leadership team, Kekina oversees OHA’s Advocacy, Communications, Community Engagement, Operations, Technology Services and Research & Evaluation divisions. Kekina also supports the implementation of OHA’s Mana i Mauli Ola (Strength to Wellbeing) Strategic Plan – which focuses on education, health, housing and economic stability.

Kekina comes to OHA from ʻAha Pūnana Leo (ʻAPL) where he served as chief operating officer for six years. During his tenure his leadership contributed to a near doubling of ʻAPL’s net assets and the expansion of its services. Prior to joining ‘APL, Kekina’s early career experiences were with JN Automotive Group and the Howard Hughes Corporation.

Kekina is a graduate of ʻIolani School and has a B.A. in travel industry management from UH Mānoa and a master’s degree in criminal justice administration from Chaminade University. He is a longtime member of the Outrigger Canoe Club, where he serves on the Fitness Center Committee. Kekina was born and raised in Waialua on the North Shore of Oʻahu. He now resides in Kāneʻohe with his wife and children.
