At-Large Trustee

Brickwood M. Galuteria is a dynamic figure with a diverse career. Currently serving as an At-Large Trustee since 2022, he brings a wealth of experience from his prior role as a Hawaiʻi State Senator from 2008 to 2018. Beyond politics, Galuteria has etched his presence in the media as an accomplished television executive producer and host of “Kūpuna Power,” dedicated to empowerment, education, and long-term care resources. Apart from his public roles, Brickwood excels as a musician, record producer, and recording artist, fostering unity through music in concert and event promotion. Notably, he contributed to preserving Hawaiian cultural heritage as a former Hōkūleʻa crew member during the 1992 Voyage “No Nā Mamo…For the Generations,” imparting voyaging values to Hawaiʻi’s students. Throughout his multifaceted career, Galuteria has staunchly advocated for Native Hawaiians, leaving a lasting, positive societal impact.
