OHA releases grant solicitations for $340,000 to mālama iwi kupuna and support community events

HONOLULU (Feb. 1, 2021) - The Office of Hawaiian Affairs today published two of an anticipated seven grant solicitations scheduled to be released by March 1, 2021, to support Native Hawaiian beneficiaries and communities.  OHA is dedicating $144,079 to its new Iwi Kupuna Repatriation and Reinternment grant. The grant is intended to empower communities to take care of iwi kupuna, including the protection of known burial sites of iwi kupuna, respectful reburial of iwi kupuna that have been disturbed, and returning iwi kupuna that have been taken away from their homeland. OHA approves $103,000 in event grants

HONOLULU (Nov. 1, 2019) – The Office of Hawaiian Affairs today announced the selection of 20 community events that will receive a total of $103,000 from OHA’s ʻAhahui Grants Program. “OHA is proud to support these organizations hosting events that will promote health, education, culture and land-based activities across the state for our Lāhui and the broader public,” said Sylvia Hussey, OHA Interim Chief Executive Officer and Ka Pouhana Kūikawā. OHA Board announces approval of Kūlia Grants Program awards

The Annual State Championship Canoe Regatta brings together all of the State's island canoe paddling associations to participate and to determine the overall state champions for our State team sport of outrigger canoe paddling. OHA seeks grant proposals to benefit Hawaiians

HONOLULU (Sept. 12, 2014) – The Office of Hawaiian Affairs today announced it is making $8.9 million total in grant money available to community-based organizations that can help address key priorities of improving conditions for Native Hawaiians. Starting Wednesday, Sept. 17, community-based organizations will be able to apply for between $100,000 and $500,000 in grant money to fund any one of six specific priorities meant to help enhance OHA’s efforts.
