KAILUA-KONA, HAWAI‘I — October 14, 2025 — In a historic and unprecedented move, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) will convene its Standing Committee and Board of Trustees meetings as part of this year’s Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs (AOHCC) Convention.
Convention participants are warmly invited to attend and observe these official OHA meetings, which represent a significant step in strengthening the relationship between OHA and the Hawaiian Civic Club community.
This joint gathering offers a rare opportunity to witness OHA’s policy discussions and decision-making firsthand, as Trustees deliberate on matters affecting our Lāhui and the advancement of Native Hawaiian well-being.

Founded by Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana‘ole in 1918, the Hawaiian Civic Club movement is the oldest Native Hawaiian community-based advocacy organization. It advances the welfare of Native Hawaiians through initiatives in culture, health, education, economic development, social well-being, and nationhood, while perpetuating and preserving the Hawaiian language, history, music, dance, and other cherished cultural traditions.
