OHA: Office of Hawaiian Affairs

He Mele No Na Koa Aloha ʻAina

Haku ia na Hinaleimoana Wong

E aloha a’e ana au

I ku’u ‘aina, ku’u one hānau

No ka ho’oilina a nā kūpuna

E paio mau a naue i ka pono

Na kāua e ku’u lahui

E pa’a pono, e pa’a i ka hoe uli

A hoe aku, hoe a hoe a mau

A hiki loa i kai o ka maluhia

A hiki loa ia Hawai’inuiakea

Eō Hawai’i e ola mau loa kou inoa

E mahalo aku i ka lewa lani

Ia nani lua’ole, nani kupaianaha

He lei poina’ole no nā kau a kau

Ka lei o ku’u ‘āina ku’u lei mae’ole

E welo mau loa  ku’u hae Hawai’i

Ka lepa ha’aheo (o) nā koa aloha ‘āina

Welo i Mauna Kea welo i Mauna Pānī’au

A kūkahi mai a ho’olōkahi ho’i kākou

I shall honor, love and cherish

My land, my birth sands

for the legacy of the ancestors

I shall fight and defend in truth and justice

It shall be you and I my beloved nation

To hold fast to the steering paddle

Let us paddle onward and forward

Until we reach the shores of sanctuary

Until we reach Hawai’i of the vast expanse

Answer oh Hawai’i, long live your name

Let us give thanks unto the heavens

For this incomparable and astonishing beauty

It is an unforgettable lei for all of life’s seasons

It is the lei, the never ending love for my land

May my flag wave proudly evermore

The proud symbol of the aloha ‘aina patriots

Fly proudly from Mauna Kea to Mauna Pani’au

And let us now unite and stand as one
