Kai Mana is OHA’s Human Resources Director (Ka Hoakake‘a). He joined the agency in September 2020 and brings with him nearly 20 years of experience across the full spectrum of HR functions. He is a member of both the national and local chapters of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and holds an MBA from the University of Miami Herbert School of Business.
As the head of OHA’s “People Department,” Kai Mana’s primary focus is on supporting the agency’s employees through strategic and people-centric initiatives so that they, in turn, can continue to do great work for the Native Hawaiian community.
Prior to joining OHA, Kai Mana was the head of HR for Lē‘ahi Swim School, Inc., where he helped transform the company into one of “Hawaii’s Best Places to Work,” according to Hawaii Business Magazine. He is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and currently lives in East Honolulu with his husband.
