Kamehameha Ho'olaule'a

The Kamehameha Schools 'ohana and its supporters came together Feb. 28 for the 79th annual Ho'olaule'a, where the guiding principle of the day was "E Aloha, E Ola Pono – Live Love, Live Right." Dubbed the "Best Hawaiian Celebration," the daylong fundraiser at the Kapālama campus offered keiki rides and games, a country store, Hawaiian plates and an array of other treats, as well as musical and hula performances by students, including a play by fourth graders called "Rendezvous at the Reef." The day wouldn't have been complete without live music, and celebrants were invited to bring their lawn chairs to sit back and enjoy sessions by Holunape, Del Beazley, Brother Noland and Ledward Ka'apana. - Photos: Nicholas Masagatani
