The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has landed two popular Native Hawaiian radio personalities to host the agency's newly reformatted talk show weekdays from 7 to 9 am on KKNE 940 AM, an affiliate of Cox Radio.

Brickwood Galuteria and Kimo Kahoano enjoyed a successful run together in the 1990s as part of the "Aloha Morning Show" on a different station. They began hosting the OHA show on April 9.

The show is titled "Nā ʻŌiwi ʻŌlino," which means "people seeking wisdom," a name given to OHA by noted kupuna Malia Craver.

"I always loved radio as a medium and working with OHA allows Brick and me to talk about the success stories they have, and there are many," Kahoano said.

"The information avenues are so plentiful these days it's tough to figure out which blog to trust, or which outlet will take the time to talk about Hawaiian issues. We want to be the place to tune in for that," Galuteria said.

"We want to provide a forum where people can get up-to-date information on what's going on in the Hawaiian community, especially as we move toward self-determination to preserve and perpetuate our native culture," said OHA Administrator Clyde Nāmuʻo.

The show will focus on the many issues facing the Hawaiian community, and will feature guests on a variety of topics, along with Hawaiian music. And Galuteria and Kahoano said they intend to have some fun doing it. "We believe that humor is healing," Kahoano said.

Nāmuʻo said that the show is not only intended for Native Hawaiians. "Brick and Kimo want to include everyone in those discussions to help build a better Hawaii," he said.

The show airs weekdays from 7 to 9 a.m. on KKNE 940 AM on Oahu and is also streamed live on the Internet at am940hawaii.com. Archived shows are also availalbe online by clicking here.
