Business Assistance (Hi‘ilei Aloha)

OHA fulfills its purpose by providing such resources as the business assistance offered by its subsidiaries, which are critical to the organization’s efforts to create an environment where Hawaiian-owned businesses have an opportunity to thrive.

Hi‘ilei Aloha LLC is a non-profit subsidiary of OHA. It is focused largely on promoting, developing, and supporting culturally-appropriate opportunities that benefit Native Hawaiians. OHA created the subsidiary in October 2007 to manage two properties it acquired: Waimea Valley and Makaweli Poi Mill. Since then, Hi‘ilei Aloha’s role as a subsidiary has been broadened to include securing federal funds and other grants for programs that benefit the Hawaiian community. In addition, it assists Hawaiian non-profit organizations and businesses by helping them build capacity.
