Aloha 'Ano'ai Kākou,

The formation of a Native Hawaiian Governing Entity is an overwhelming challenge. While many groups and individuals have stepped forward with a process, OHA knows we cannot achieve a nation for our people alone. The commitment and dedication required at every step promises to be staggering.

In the spirit of unity that is needed for Native Hawaiians to address this challenge, OHA has created a Community Consultation Network (CCN) to empower Native Hawaiians. The purposes of CCN are simple and as the name implies, we want it to be a consultative and collaborative effort.

First, we want to help Native Hawaiians understand the work that has brought us to this point in Hawaiian history. And second, we want to ask and engage them in thinking about what the next steps should be in our Hawaiian nation-building endeavors.

For the Native Hawaiian community, this provides a forum and venue to take our collective energy and determination and channel it toward a productive outcome of lending direction to the unifying goal of building our nation. CCN will utilize technology to bridge the distance that separates Hawaiians across the globe.

With this important work that lies ahead, we extend our deepest aloha to you for helping our people and our Lāhui. By hosting a meeting and making yourselves and your homes available to your own network of 'ohana and friends, you enable our community to achieve the goal of bettering the conditions of Native Hawaiians and have a clearer idea of the path our people wish to pursue. Your kōkua and commitment to our community is greatly appreciated.
